BEECONNECT is the add-on that will allow users to remotely control their BEETHEFIRST 3D Printer via Wi-Fi, using Octoprint. In the near future, users will need only Internet access to experience BEETHEFIRST with complete autonomy. A small step for 3D Printing, a great step for BEETHEFIRST! BEECONNECT will evolve from a project to a finished product available for everyone.
Here’s the plan:
Phase 0 / August – BEECONNECT as a project OpenSource philosophy is part of the BEEVERYCREATIVE DNA as they truly believe in the value of collaborative projects. They welcome the Maker community to follow this project. If you want to be at the forefront of this technology, all you need is a Raspberry Pi. The rest they have made available at GitHub (github.com/beeverycreative/beeconnect).
Phase 1 / September – BEECONNECT as a kit. All the equipment and materials needed will become available for any user wishing to assemble their own BEECONNECT, and discover for themselves the potential of 3D printing on BEETHEFIRST in a completely autonomous manner.
Phase 2 / In The Not-Too-Distant Future – BEECONNECT as a product BEECONNECT will be launched as an easy-to-use Plug&Play accessory. When connected to BEETHEFIRST via USB, the user may remotely communicate with the 3D printer, needing only an internet connection to make it work.
